Blue Greenie grew out of a simple conviction: that the things we discard still have worth — and that artists who reimagine them deserve to be supported.

We believe every city should have a Remake Shop, where giving away your old clothes means supporting a local maker, not just clearing out your closet. Where shopping, donating, and creating all connect into one community built around reuse.

Blue Greenie is that place - and we hope it's just the beginning

Founder Julie Kinkle has always believed that good things deserve a second life.

For more than 20 years, that belief paid the bills. Julie made a living hunting and reselling thrifted treasures in New York City.

When the resale market shifted, a friend sat her down and asked what she really wanted to do. Julie had always imagined herself making something with her hands — pillows, maybe — but told her friend she didn't have a sewing machine. Two weeks later, that friend showed up with one.

She spent the next couple of months turning old cashmere sweaters into pillows. Then one day she picked up a dress with a hole in it. What started as a cashmere heart became a mouth, then cashmere eyes, then cashmere fringe hair. By the time she put it down, she knew: this was her calling.

Since then, Julie has become a best-selling designer at a NYC boutique and created the world's first commission-free marketplace for one-of-a-kind fashion.

She believes upcycling isn't just a creative act — it's one of the most powerful things we can do for the planet and the artists who live on it.

Blue Greenie Remake Shop is her mission made real. A place where discarded clothes become art, and the people who make them get paid.
